The fund invests at least 80% of its total assets, plus borrowings for investment purposes (if any), in the securities of the index. The index is designed to measure the performance of a strategy commonly referred to as bond βladderingβ as applied to public obligations of the U.S. Treasury that have maturities between 1 and 3 years as of the last business day of February of each year.
